This is the first A310 delivered from Airbus, and it went to Swissair on March 25th 1983. The A310-222 was named after the "Kanton Aargau", and had the wapon shield of Aargau on the front part of the fuselage. The aircraft stayed in service by Swissair until June 5th 1995, at that time already the ownership had changed to ILFC (March 15th 1994). After it was returned to ILFC in October 1st 1995, it was flown to Mobile Downtown Airport (KBFM) on the 6th for modifications. Full convertion to a freighter with large door for the main deck was done in June 1996. Already in October 1995 it got the registration N446FE, and from that date on it has served by Federal Express.
