BAe 146 / Avro Regional Jet (Avroliner)

The first BAe 146 - a series 100 - was delivered to Dan-Air London on 23 May 1983 with the registration G-BKMN. This was the sixth 146 built (MSN E1006) - the first of the aircraft not used for the certification. The first flight was on 5 May 1983. The aircraft served by Dan-Air London until the airline went in to receivership in 1992. Davies & Newman (the parent company of Dan-Air) sold the airline to British Airways for £1, but G-BKMN was returned to BAe on 14 July 1992. From August that same year until end of October 1933 E1006 was in storage at Hatfield. On 25 October 1993 it was moved to BAe Warton, and almost ten months later it was flown to Stansted. It was supposed to be given the a new registration, G-ODAN, but a lease didn't materialise. Finally on 11 October 1994 it was leased out to Malmö Aviation, the first six months or so it was still registered G-BKMN, but on 26 July 1995 it entered the Swedish Registry as SE-DRH. By Malmö Aviation it stayed for little over two year. In January 1997 it was sub-leased to CityJet and got its new registration EI-COF. On 30 December 1997 CityJet returned the aircraft to Malmö Aviation, and in February 1998 the aircraft was back in the hands of BAe. After having gone through a full check, the whole interior was replaced and finally a quick visit to the paint box. On 20 June 1998 the E1006 departed in silver colours with a large F1 on the tail. It was now the "new" Business Jet for the Formula 1 Administration and had the registration G-OFOA.
