AirTran Airways Boeing 717-2BD N942AT

The development of the Boeing 717-200 started up under the name MD-95, and was introduced to the world of McDonnell Douglas in October 1995. As everybody know, MDC was taken over by Boeing on August 1st 1997 and the the aircraft was given the name 717-200. The above shown B717-2BD was the first delivered from Boeing, and it went to AirTran Airways on September 23rd 1999. Today it's one of around 50 B717-200 by AirTran Airways. Quite interesting is it that the eyebrow window in the cockpit has now been removed from new B717s.
