Airlines

In this section you'll find information about airlines from a spotter's point of view, not the traditional commercial information. And what would be of interest for a spotter in addition to historic facts?

Special paint schemes
Like the drawing (SAS' red MD-80) and the picture (the Norwegian individual tail art - here Sonja Henie) under shows, many airlines have a special design applied to some few aircraft in their fleet. These are always of special interest of spotters.

First delivery of a new aircraft type
A few airlines have over time been among the launch customers of new aircraft types. Swissair was one of those bold airlines, and the illustration under shows the first Airbus A310 delivered to a Swissair on March 25th 1983 (A310-222 - c/n 224 - HB-IPA - "Aargau").

A single aircraft of a type in their fleet
This Icelandair Boeing 757-308 is an example of this - their second will be delivered in 2004.

In addition to this I'll also try for some of the airlines to develop a historic list of aircraft used by the airline.

If you have wishes for a special airline to be covered by Plane-Spotter.com or if you have special information you want to share with other fellow spotters, don't hesitate to contact me at comments@plane-spotter.com.
