The easiest accessable spot at Manchester International Airport is Level 12/13 of the Multi Storey Car Park. Just inside the main entrance of Terminal 1 there are easily to find lifts for the top floor. If you arrive by car, the prices for parking at the MSCP and neighbooring parking areas are a bit stiff. A possible way to save money is to park the car at a free parking area of a nearby train station (like Heald Green), and take the train to MAN. The MAN train station is situated between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and you just need to walk the Skylink Walkway over to Terminal 1.

From the western end of Level 12/13 you can cover Terminal 2 gates, the cargo area, the northern side of pier C. From the southern side at Level 13 you can monitor both runways, the taxiways in the sector between Alpha and Golf, but the roof top of Terminal 1 block the view of the gates on the southside. At the eastern end of Level 12/13 you can follow landing aircraft on runway 23L. All around the MSCP there are fences, but there are also made a few cut outs of reasonable size for SLR lenses.

Now over to what type of photos you can get at the Multi Storey Car Park Level 12/13. In September 2004 I only visited this spot during the late hours of the day.

Many tail colours at the outer end of pier C.

Excel Airways 752 taxying on Delta and to the left are two Britannia 767s, one Air Scandic A300 and one Virgin Atlantic 747-200B this Friday evening.

The next I got this photo of Terminal 2 - late afternoon/early evening at T2 on a Saturday isn't that busy.

But it can be busy too, like this morning photo from May 2002 shows.

Four 747 in one shot - there aren't that many airports in Europe that can do the same.

It is realy getting close to the sun set - a Thomson.co.uk 763 turning on to taxiway Mike.

The control tower between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 still basking in sun light, but not for long.

Over on taxiway Tango a PIA 747-300 is about to depart for Lahore.

A Babybus being push back from Terminal 2.

The Aviation Shop on Level 13 is no longer - the shop has moved inside the terminal - Terminal 1 Arrivals.
On our last visit in late April a new top coat was applied to the floors of Level 12 and 13.
