As we drove down the Old Hall Lane in direction of the Avro Golf Club, we hoped to get glimpse of the first new Nimrod MRA4 (PA1). This aircraft was reported to be out taxiing earlier that week, but we couldn't find it. The only aircraft we could see around the northern factory buildings, was the preserved nuclear-white Vulcan.

During our last visit to Woodford Aerodrome, two years ago, this AVRO RJX100 prototype was parked across from the golf club. Today this same aircraft is on display at the Aviation Viewing Park, Manchester International Airport.

This year we found a number of half slaughtered prototypes, like the AVRO RJX85 prototype c/n E2376 ex. G-ORJX - parked without engines at the eastern part of the aerodrome. Sources say the aircraft is used for ground and cabin crew training.

To the southeast of the golf club parking, the Jetstream 41 prototype G-GCJL was also in a sad state. Notice the added radar dome under the fuselage and satellite receiver aded to the top of the fuselage.

One ATP in SATA Acores colours (c/n 2009) and two ex. Merpati Nusantara ATPs (PK-MTW c/n 2047 and PK-MTZ c/n 2050) without engines are parked on the south apron. A third ex. Merpati Nusantara ATP (PK-MTV c/n 2046) is also parked to the right of this photo.

The only official AVRO marking we found was on this old fire truck parked in between some small sheds.

It was now time to end our visit at Woodford. The spotter car had to be returned 15:30 at latest, and therefore the last few mile to MAN took only some few minutes.
After having checked in for the return flight to OSL, we had some few more hours to spend.
We continued our spotting at Multi Storey Car Park Level 13.
